@Ovnew Restaurant

Throwback to 24th of April, when visiting the opening of this amazing gastronomic concept Ovnew. The experience is based on ‘The taste of five continents’ and really gives you to the whole world in flavors, in one night. There is also performances accompanying each course related to the continent.

A color show
Raw but cooked
Shrimp head has never been so good…

The restaurant is located in Hesperia Tower on the very top, which creates great views through the panoramic windows, and really, the experience couldn’t be more complete. It is a perfect new-thinking gastronomic experience that definitely adds value to the gastronomy world in Barcelona. LOVED IT!!!

@ Parco Sushi

Since it’s international Sushi day today, I thought I’d share my #1 sushi favorite in Barcelona. It is more focused on Sushi and Sashimi, but they do have maki that are delicious too. The star of the show is the butterfish nigiri, which is topped with truffle and salt flakes…

If you know, you know!
Tuna sashimi
Foie Gras
So this happened last time I was there, I think our waiter thought we were a bit crazy 🙂

Price vs Quality – 5/5

It is pricey, but you get what you pay for here. normally the bill has been 50-60€ depending on what sushi you order. They have a tasting menu if you ask for it, where they serve you their varied suggestions and you can let them know when you are full.

Service – 5/5

The staff is very knowledgeable and attentive, more than happy to give advices on your ordering. I have been many times to the place and never experienced any problems regarding the service.

The place – 5/5

It has a nice dinner ambience, dimmed lightning and good music. Place is normally full so RESERVE your table in advance. On another note, there are number of seatings per night so you have the table for 2h only (strictly).

@ Spoonik

Throwback to 19th of October 2019. I was gifted the perfect gift to a Foodie, an amazing and unique gastronomic experience, at Spoonik BCN.

The menu is Colombia/Mexico inspired by the chefs’ origins, Jon Giraldo and Jaime Lieberman. The place is giving the feeling of being in a house and the chef is cooking behind an open kitchen. You dine in a small group of less than 10 people. All dishes are explained in detail, as well as the wine selection. Of course, this is a 10/10.

A man was playing piano which created a very nice ambience, along with the food presenter, and the sommelier. This was real food porn, guys. If you ever need a recommendation for a very special occasion, or don’t know what to wish for on your birthday, this is the place.

Welcome

Can we start over, please?

@ Casa Brinda

The place
Pulpitos
Paella de marsicado

So I ended up in Platja dÁro in Costa brava, 1,5h outside of Barcelona. I had this restaurant on my to-go list so of course I made my visit there today. It was a really pleasant lunch which really lived up to expectations.

• Price vs Quality = 5/5

You really pay good prices for what you get. Their menu is very varied with Mediterranean dishes and tapas. Paella was ranging 10-13€ which is less than average, 1l of Sangria 9,95€

• Service = 5/5

The service was outstanding, very nice and talkative waiters who did their job plus reached above and beyond. They were very attentive and food was served quickly.

• The place 5/5

It is a beautiful place, very classy designed, perfect for day dining and you can have a seat inside or outside on the terrace.

@ Ethniko Barcelona

EAT YOUR COLORS! Check out recently opened Ethniko restaurant, down at Barceloneta. I went earlier this week but just tried two tapa dishes. Was pleasantly surprised by the first plate consisting of three different hummus, pita bread and fresh vegetables. Their menu consisted of many different options, healthy and vegetarian -friendly!

My first post ever on this blog.

Hola a todos! I am a local food guide in Barcelona. I love enjoying the very wide food culture here, and I am obsessed with re-visiting my favorite places, as well as exploring new spots. In my opinion, what it really comes down to when visiting restaurants is that they should have a strong quality-price balance.

As of today, there are 9056 physical restaurants in Barcelona. I have so far tried about 150 of them. This means this blog will never be boring or out-dated as new venues are born frequently. As the # of restaurants in this city is very high, it means you have to be aware of the good ones to avoid getting disappointed. I have realized you just need to to a bit of research before you pay visit to restaurants.

This is not a personal blog, this is a food blog. It will mainly consist of food pictures and reviews of restaurants. What’s in it for you? YOU get information about the best (most price-worthy) places to eat in Barcelona. Read along!

Here is an Avocado. You will see a lot more of those.
